RATES/DISCOUNTSPlease call 630 495 0633, or email us for current standard fees.
Discounts from standard fees are available to those who live close by (Lombard and surrounding suburbs) and for those clients who schedule
tunings at least once a year. (Your piano, if it is being played, should be tuned at least once a year).
Sivak Piano Service offers a FREE PITCH RAISE with every tuning.
If your piano hasn’t been tuned in a while, it eventually falls flat, as the strings lose tension. Before the piano can be tuned, the tension must be restored to all the strings, or it will not hold its tune. This process can take up to 20 minutes, but is necessary for a good stable tuning. If you are price conscious, and are calling several tuners to compare prices,
you must ask if there is an extra charge for a pitch raise. You may be surprised at how much this can add to your bill. But not at SIVAK PIANO SERVICE, where Pitch Raises are always free. When comparing tuning fees, keep in mind that SIVAK PIANO SERVICE considers your appointment more than just a tuning. We will examine the piano to make sure that there are no problems that would cause tuning instability. Many little things often pop up at this first service call that can often be taken care of without any extra charge. Adjusting the pedal, easing a sticking key, adjusting a damper head to work more effectively, tightening a wobbly hammer flange---things like this can often be taken care of without any extra charge. (Sticking keys are the most common complaint, often being the primary reason the tuner is called in for a tuning. The majority of the time, a sticking key is a “No Charge” repair.) If a repair is lengthy enough to warrant “going on the clock”, no work is done before an estimate is given. Customers often ask us to give repair estimates over the phone. This is extremely difficult, due to the fact that the same symptom (“sticking key”) could be caused by any one of a number of problems. (debris in keybed, key bushings too tight, balance rail hole too tight, corrosion on keypins, sluggish action centers, etc.) However, it is nevertheless a good idea to inform us of any additional problems that you are aware of so that we might schedule a little extra time for your appointment, so that I have enough time to complete these repairs. DISCOUNTS ***
***Only one discount available per piano, with the exception of the MULTIPLE PIANO DISCOUNT, which can be combined with any of the others listed here.
